allergic reaction to waxing upper lip? what to do

Anonymous
the technician messed up, OP.

white heads means she pulled it wrong.

Threading is the way to go for facial hair.

MUST you wax your upper lip? Can't you just use a depilatory at home? Do you have a mustache? Hope it gets better soon.

Go get a waxing where they have a high frequency machine. They rub it on the waxed area and it cuts down on the bacteria. I used to get red bumps and breakouts all the time, and this helps a tremendous amount for me. Also, definitely suggest bringing some ice with you to put on right after.

am considering threading for next time. this is the second time this is happened - at a different place, different waxer so am wondering if it just is me. Depilatory creates stubble...i used to just bleach but after my second kid it seems to be worse.....

another threading advocate. although, i admit, threading hurts. but you get used to it. it's the price of beauty. threading also lasts longer.

if you did waxing and broke out and then tried threading, did you have any issues?

Does threading hurt more than waxing? Ouch, I hate waxing.

Try sugaring at home or threading. I use MOOM.

I use the VEET strips at home. Is that the sugaring PPs talked about? I used to wax but now I just do it myself. It works very well and I never have any problems. I used to also break out after waxing, and a few times I even had bad burns when the waxer made it too hot!

Unfortunately the facial hair gets worse after kids, and as we get older. I just hit the 50 mark and I had to get one of those magnifying mirrors with a light to find all the facial hair that sprouts out of my face!! Yuk!!

Good luck!

No matter how many times I try, I can't get waxed on my face (tried lips and eyebrows)... I get very inflamed red bumps and some little whiteheads, it's terrible looking. It happened when I tried threading, too... which was a disappointment because I had really hoped it would be okay for me.

I use a depilatory - no inflammation but I have to do it more often... oh well.

I gave it all up a few years ago. Now I use an old electric shaver every morning. Problem solved.

After years of trying various temporary measures, I got the Tria. It's not supposed to be for facial hair, but I tried it anyway and it solved my problem.
