If anyone who owns a kiosk at the mall is reading this - can you invest in a $50 curtain? Getting eyebrows/upper lip threaded is so much better than waxing for me. But no way am I sitting there getting facial hair removed in public! I really think you would get a lot more business. Am I the only one?
(I have used the one by the tea shop at Tysons once - when I realized I needed more privacy - and they weren't bad at all!) Dupont Threading is probably the best in the area though...of course not helpful if you're in Tysons. |
Where do you want this curtain to be? all 4 sides only? or a tent to shield from the top too? $50? hardly. Are you willing to pay more $ if they provide a tent? |
I was at Tysons recently and saw that the Perfect Eyebrows now has store space. Seems somewhat more private than out in the middle of the walkway. Has anyone been there and was it okay for brow and upper lip threading? |
I have been there for threading. There are actually TWO threading salons in Tysons. One upstairs next to Dippin' Dots, across from Banana Republic. One downstairs next to Motherhood Maternity & Lord&Taylor.
I've been to both and like both... there's one lady in the one downstairs that is so slow and it hurts when she does but I forget her name. It's SO much nicer now that they are more private in the salons rather than the kiosks. |
+1. I'm always embarrassed for the people getting it done when I walk by. |
We're desperate. I hate it myself but FAR prefer threading to the wax and agree with a PP who wish these kiosks would get a curtain or something.
PP, where street is Dupont Threading on? I'm in DC and willing to travel for a good spot. |
Shobha is finally opening in DC--a total non-kiosk, little-bit luxe threading/waxing place. Their website says Spring 2013, but I peeked in their storefront (downtown on M Street) and it probably won't be for a few months.
I've been there a ton in NYC and it's great. Too afraid to try the kiosks. |
Best threading places that are actual shops. Dupont threading in dupont dc, Threads which is in dc and has a store in bethesda, Beautiful U in potomac. I have never waxed my eyebrows - in my culture threading is what we do from the beginning. I am v v particular about my eyebrows and these are the best places. |
Not PP but agree about Dupont Threading. They are one 19th street. The link to their yelp reviews are below. I'm in Alexandria but make the trip at least once a month because they are that good. Make sure to see Natasha though. I've tried 2 other girls when Natasha was out and it wasn't a great experience. It took longer, was painful and didn't look as good. Natasha is quick, its painless and she always gets the shape right. http://www.yelp.com/biz/dupont-threading-washington |
me too!!! I was happy with the results and price. I had my baby in the stroller next to me!!! |
![]() Is "sideburns" literally just the sideburns like a guy would have, straight down from the ear? Or does that basically include the entire side of your face? Yes, I am hairy. ![]() |
i don't know whether this is covered by "sideburns" but i've definitely seen women at threads bethesda getting the sides of their faces threaded. i'm sure they've seen it all! good luck. |
I go to the threading spot at the wheaton mall. $16 and they're quick and do a fantastic job. Less irritating for my skin then waxing. |
Thanks (particularly for the name of a specific person)! |
You all need to avoid this store because the owner Deepak recruits F1 students who don't have permit to work. And also this guy treats employees like s**t. File a complain at different levels about tax fraud and hiring illegals. |
