I wrote this post (my kid also has PMDD, like yours - getting symptoms of that under control w/birth control was one of the best things we did this year). Our experience at Stixrud was that the first day of testing (4-5 hours?) was administered by someone other than the doctor. These were essentially the computer and standardized test portions of the assessment. The doctor did 1) intake with parents before testing to develop a plan (90 minutes?); 2) second day of testing (4-5 hours); 3) wrote the report walked parents through a detailed review of it; and 4) a 1:1 conversation with kid to explain the results. Regardless of whether you ultimately use Stixrud, I'd call them - their intake is very good and you have the option to stop moving forward at any time if you don't think it's the right fit and to ask any questions you might have about their process. Once I looked at the bio of the doctor they matched my teen with, I felt very confident using them. |
