I’m a writer and there’s a huge push to have people disclose that fiction was written by AI. See the recent Shy Girl controversy. It’s a very bad idea, and he will lose credibility. Readers refuse to read books with AI covers, let alone a full story.
Does he know he also can’t copyright it. AI work is not legally protected. If he does well, people will steal his stories and he will have zero recourse. Huge red flag. If he doesn’t disclose, he is an @ss. |

Are you a boomer?
This is 2026 and everyone is using AI to write nowadays. Readers expect it and don’t care. The only thing that will hurt him is not using AI. |
| You need to stay in your lane. It’s not your business. |
| AI writing is so obvious. He is naive to think he won't be found out. |
| I feel like this is none of your business. Even if it implodes on him, how much does that really affect you? |
Horsht business writing, of course. The obitiuary for your great aunt, why not? He'll be a laughingstock if these are meant to be considered little gems of literary fiction. |
| You lost me a the use of the term "the hubs".... |
| Tell him he has to use a pseudonym to start, and then get all the way off his back. Your insane reaction is probably pushing him to spite you. |
Oh yeah, people stealing OP DH's amazing AI written short stories is the major concern here. |
| Rip the Band-Aid off and tell him the AI writing is bad. "It's not up to your standard, people will notice, and I would not be doing your part as your partner if I kept that from you. What should we do for dinner?" |
Yeah, Full Disclosure. |
NP here. The OP’s approach here is worthy of its own thread. Specifically: she feels she needs to start a fight with the “hubs.” |
| OP it might help if you were actually clear about what you think the harm is. Right now you are just expressing vague concerns. |
| Ask ChatGPT to help you craft a letter to the hubs. And then stage your dramatic fight with him, filming it to share with everyone on this thread. |
