Why 2 hour delay? Why not a 1 hour delay?

This. And OP stop looking for things to complain about. Find a new hobby.

I was an MCPS HS student on 9/11/01 and remember that they closed 1.5 hours early instead of 2.5 hours early and we had lunch and went home after 5th period instead of 4th. Which I imagine was because the scope and severity of the situation did not become totally clear until the normal decision deadline for closing early had already passed. But that established a precedent for exactly nothing. Truly and hopefully a one-time-only event and everyone was scrambling and doing the best they could.

+1 MCPS 80s kid again and worth noting that all of the different counties had both 1- and 2-hour delays back then and none of them have them anymore. So it’s not just an MCPS thing.
