Agree with this. St Pats was crazy liberal. We went to WES and were very happy.

We lean liberal, and are very happy at NPS. Also the facilities are wonderful. Our teachers are amazing and the HOS is one of a kind.

We’ve been at St. Pat’s for 3 years and have been extremely happy. The teachers and administrators are all excellent. We love the parent community too and have enjoyed all of the opportunities to get to know other families.

I didn’t think either school was appropriate for our kids. The admissions director at NPS was condescending and only spoke to my husband during the parent interview. I guess she was not used to interacting with moms who work outside the home. Or something. I found it strange that St Patrick’s did not include a tour of an actual class with students in it, learning (though the facility was great I concede). That said, friends of ours sent their kids to St Patrick’s and they enjoyed it. We applied to NPS as our backup, and got in (the fact that it stops at 6th is obviously a big downside), but after our experience with the AD, did not want our child in that environment. We did not end up applying to St Patrick’s.

Was this the previous AD or the new one?

This is an interesting commentary considering the admissions folks all work outside the home as well. As an NPS mom, I can tell you that the majority of the families I have met have two working parents.

St Pats has much better high school matriculation and facilities. My DC went there and said that their grade was a very eclectic mix. The school also heavily encourages reading, which is evident as most graduates have advanced reading capabilities for their age and their library is massive for such a small school.

Very happy liberal NPS family here. Kids have thrived, and grateful for the amazing faculty and staff that make my children feel known and supported.

As others have posted, if you lean conservative, I would not recommend St. Pats. It is very liberal.

WES is a fantastic option. It is a wonderful school with a dynamic, inspiring principal.

The parent community? All of the families I know that sent their kids to St. Pat's are very conservative - Trump families. Maybe admin is liberal but not parent community unless it has changed in recent years?

Yes, this has definitely changed.

First time heard NPS being liberal. As is well known in DC, NW is NOT as liberal as some of the other schools.
