“Best” of all the bad schools is still bad |
Yup. Out of the other schools in that region, QO is on top. |
It suffered after Mr. Dimmick left |
| I see the other post that Wootton will take over the site of Crown HS if it is for real, will Wootton HS join region 5 to make it more diversified? |
|
If you are in Laytonsville, you may not even be assigned to GHS in the future. The last boundary options had LES going to Damascus in all four scenarios.

Yup. And QO is a mediocre HS where athletics is more important. So you can how Region 5 will fare in the new magnet program with all the highest FARMS schools and bad to mediocre schools together. |
WOOTTON parents will fight tooth and nail to prevent that happening but if it does it will actually be a good thing. |
| Gaithersburg was consider garbage when I was growing up in the 1990s. It's only gotten worse. |
| We know of 2 families with kids there and they are happy. One thing to keep in mind, the schools with more Farms kids typically have less of a PTA presence and less money for events. Comparing what our high school does for events like prom and graduation is very different to what Gaithersburg does and has. |
It's been a little while now but a while back I used to hear a spouse of a staff member there complain about how bad the school was. They believed it was the worst school in the school system. It's kind of sad that a staff member would view their school that way. But at the same time, I figure they probably see the worse that goes on in the schools. (I've heard complaints from staff members from W schools too saying how bad the students at their school were) |
