Leave early?

Must have been the 80s before cellphones and laptops.

The CFO had a heart attack on another floor during update with CEO and I was able to find him quickly, call 911, call building security and make sure 911 could enter building with my pass and updated CEO.

The CFO always joked I did it out of spite so he would be alive for the YE close. I actually found him half passed out in Mens room. Apparently he hung up with CEO not fully realizing it was a heart attack and made his way to bathroom. He would have died on floor in bathroom if I left early.

Pure luck for him and pure luck for me. The two people who sign and approve my bonus check and raise the CEO and CFO I made happy on same day all at 5pm Thanksgiving Eve.

Truth be had I was meeting my buddies for happy hour and they were running late. But hey a win is a win.

100%. I remember so many long weekends where I got screwed out of plans bc we weren’t told until last minute. All it did was make me resentful. Either tell me early or just don’t do it.

As a supervisor who is not the who makes those calls, I do let my staff know that I’m not taking attendance if they happen to not be present in the afternoon. I’m not in a cancer-curing industry, people can scooch out early if they want.

OP here. I’m sure your employees appreciate you.

OMG I would worry more about your dc’s future prospects if they’re asking you to figure this one out for you.
