Federal Govt Telework

Anonymous
Some of our remote staff who couldn’t find local offices have been allowed to telework.

I don’t get why this government has such a stick up their ass to be in person. It’s not even a hard-on for the private sector. Most of consulting is in the office 2-3 times a week. And we interact with them on the daily but we gotta be in the office? Make it make sense.

The only telework we have is for reasonable accommodations.

Have you been asleep since January? This administration has been open about their disdain and contempt for federal workers. RTO was intended as a punishment.

No telework here - not even situational to accommodate a doctor's appointment.

Exactly. Just like the 5 bullets BS. Nobody pretends that RTO actually has benefits (except for commercial real estate investors).

The torture will continue until morale improves.

We have Reasonable Accommodation telework

We allow employees to do ad-hoc TW adjacent to doctors appts, taking care of sick kids, and other emergencies. The unspoken rule is that you should do less than 10% of pay period as ad-hoc TW.

As a member of senior management, I can grant up to 90 days of medical TW without having to get it approved by HR.

Finally, my agency is allowing us to do full TW for the weeks of Thanksgiving, Xmas, and New Year’s.

People post stuff like this and then it turns out the neighbor is retired or a contractor.

There used to be a lady on here who was convinced every human she saw in the park was a teleworking fed instead of, you know, literally anything else that would make more sense.

That’s the only option that is allowed for us. I’ve teleworked two days in the past 6 months.

It's anti-fed trolling. There is a lot of it on here.

My other guess is that this was last month...like ya know when the feds were all furloughed!

Very few and limited TA
Situational when we have appointments or other need (plumber, etc)
Or when the building water or power goes out. That’s happened twice. Water main break gave us a week of telework!

We get 3 days a month.

Twice a pay period for most staff because we don’t have enough office space and currently hotel. Remove 50 miles away plus have not been called back. I suspect some folks have been granted RA to telework but it’s not transparent.
