no, growing up we had the “blue bowl”. It was kept under the bathroom sink. Kids throw up. Adults throw up. Don’t you get sick? |
|
We use a plastic storage container that doesn't get used for food. I always have a couple in a closet that aren't in use and I'll grab one of those.
In the car we have plastic barf bags in the glove compartment. Those have seen a lot more use than anything at home -- multiple family members (including me) have issues with motion sickness, but we've been lucky not to deal with a lot of stomach bugs at home. |
If i have time to get the blue bowl and bring to sick kid i have time to get them to the toilet. This has never failed me. |
when the kid is feeling sick, you bring out the blue bowl and put it beside them. That way, if they can’t make it to the toilet, they have the blue bowl. |
You don’t get the bowl when the kid is actively about to puke. You give them the bowl after the first bout of puking in case they need to again. I use an old trash can or an old basin (I think it actually came from the hospital when the oldest was born). Nothing that’s used for food. |
| I've always made it to.the toilet myself. When my sister was little I held a garbage bag for her one time. |
|
Ours is a basin that is also the foot soaker.
Or when we get norovirus I slept in the tub. |
| Toilet, no bowl, what in the world? |
I think the last time I threw up was maybe 2013. Maybe. Your diet and gut flora must be awful. Yeesh. |
what do you do with roto virus and you are already sitting on the toilet? |
how old are your children? |
When I had norovirus and had this (only once in my life), I vomited into a plastic bag. Norovirus was the woorst. |
| Our throw-up bowl is the biggest blue plastic bowl I have in a nesting set. It is also used for popcorn, mixing large recipes, basically anything for which we need a large bowl. |
| Never happened often enough to require specially designated bowls. |
|
What? You have a special popcorn bowl? That is also used for vomit? Hmm. Ok.
When I was little we were just given a towel. I wouldn't do that, I'd give someone a small trash can or something. Certainly not a bowl for popcorn, though. |
