As Elon has said, as A.I. and robotics take over more jobs, new jobs will be created, and also UBI will be a thing.

Just try to get ahead of the curve and realize that many desk-jobs and white collar jobs will be taken first by A.I., leaving mostly labor jobs.

Very wrong (consider why you are able to drink your tap water- regulations!) but in this case AI is not the one taking the jobs so regulating it is not going to solve that problem.

You have the mindset of learned helplessness. It's probably a big part of any difficulty you have in your life.

Can you identify any incorrect points I made or are you only capable of unrelated ad hominem?

Why not work on yourself instead? Why so focused on others? That could also be part of the problem.

Another ad hominem- what does that have to do with AI?

Stay on topic then? You seem to be distracted easily. That's a sign of A.I. in of itself, as too much info at once creates conflicting points in the analysis of the data.

AI regulation is not going to keep companies from layoffs because AI is not causing the layoffs. Do you disagree?

Why would I? Companies decide to lay off workers due to advancing technology allowing more or equal work being done by tech rather than human labor. It's not the A.I.'s fault, no more than it's the automobile's fault that mule-skinners are mostly out of work now.

Leads to inflation, and higher prices, and people complaining about not being paid enough.

Entire system is a scam now.

What work is AI doing?

The work that humans won't do.

If the companies are truly turning more profit after laying off people then those people weren’t really needed, were they?

They probably aren’t actually making more profits, they are just building hype or boosting their share price.

But when we all get to the bottom, there won’t be customers anymore. But these companies will keep trading amongst each other until the whole thing collapses.

What’s funny is that people use AI to write and then AI tools scrape AI-generated writing from the internet to create more AI-infused writing. It’s gonna get bad.

Why doesn’t AI collect trash? Or wash my dishes.

These people are needed in Mexico and India. Glorious offshoring to the rescue.

The economy has been sluggish for the past several years. The lack of a coherent and comprehensive economic plan by the Biden and Trump administrations have led to limited growth in the “real” economy (take out the top tech companies).

This, and the companies using it for customer service are probably going to get backlash as it sucks. I love it for some stuff. AI is an excuse.

In just the last 5 min I have found 2 A.I. posts on this site. (Not yours, saying other user's posts, but it's being used a lot.)

Did you pay for them? No. Were they better quality than a real person would have written? TBD. The real person who posted them saved their time by using AI. That makes them more productive at doing something uncompensated. Plus the AI that was used cost money to produce those free responses.

I think AI will be a tool like the Internet. Some jobs could go away but AI is more of a tool than a job replacer.
