Minor Succession "actress" Dasha Nekraosva fired from agency

Anonymous
Not going to weigh in on the merits of the “free speech” debate—its been interminably done to death here and no one will ever change anyone’s mind—but, OP, using scare quotes around “actress” in the thread title is lame. Having even a relatively minor role on one of the best TV shows in recent years does make her a real actress, whatever you think of her politics. Not a leading lady, of course, but “quirky character actor” is a time-honored role in Hollywood and she definitely brings something to the table in that capacity.

As a bleeding heart liberal, I’m terrified by the direction we are heading in with political tribalism and purity tests.

I’m terrified by your lack of a civics education. Dasha being fired by her agency (a private business) isn’t an infringement of her first amendment rights.

Somehow I doubt you’d be saying this about people being fired in the Hollywood anti-communist blacklist days. But I suppose that is “different.”

You don’t understand freedom of speech

Blacklisting people because they talked to someone (and may or may not share their views) is very problematic imho. YMMV.

It’s ok to blacklist someone for cozying up to Nick Fuentes.

Actors should act, singers should sing, comics should tell jokes, etc.

We don’t need everyone with a pulse to pontificate about politics on a podcast.

She makes 40k/month on her podcast and it's her primary career.

It sure seemed like the girls were getting political money. They were astroturfed from 2020 - 2024, especially all of 2024 for the election.

No it’s not. This is America.

Nekrasova played Comfry, a woman part of Kendall's PR team on Season 3 of the HBO show. She also had a part in Celine Song's "Materialists" and is pals with Matty Healy and Charli XCX.

Dasha posted a “Jews control Hollywood” joke on her instagram after this happened. An old Norm Macdonald joke about Marlon Brando.

It’s Hollywood. Presumably some creepy producer listened to her podcast and wanted to try and sleep with her. She brags about being promiscuous.

The Gersh agency is owned by the same Jewish American family for 70+ years.

Nick Fuentes is a vocal anti-Semite. It’s not rocket science that she got fired by her agency.

Frankly, I think she wanted out of her contract with her agency and paying them 10-15% of everything that came in. She saw this as a way of getting let go for-cause and garnering a bunch of free publicity for her podcast as a “free speech” martyr.

No surprise that a 1st gen former Soviet is antisemitic and neo-reactionary rightwing.

Well, yes, have you not heard of the House UnAmerican Activities Committee?

How so? She's a co-host of the podcast "Redscare" with Anna Khachiyan who is partly Jewish and married to a Jew.

Yes, it absolutely is. We don’t have to tolerate his intolerance.

Her agency and Hollywood in general are well within their rights not to be associated with her if she chooses to validate such a shitheel.

Being married to a Jew and your best friend being a Jew doesn't mean you're not a Nazi. For example, we all know that "my best friend is black" isn't a valid rebuttal to accusations of racism. Being racist has nothing to with a person's actual feelings about other races and is entirely a function of partisan affiliation.
