| All three of our kids graduated Oakton HS during last ten years or so. All highly successful, top of their professions (legal, finance, med) now. We could have built our home in the Langley district but chose not to. Oakton much more balanced culturally and just as competitive academically and athletically. It’s not always about the rankings. Education is so much more than which school has the top sat scores, etc. You will not regret. |
That is impressive to be at the top of the medical profession just a few years out of med school. |
You mean to say - you call BS on this?
|
I’m the PP. Our daughter graduated a some dozen years back. She graduated from a top 5 med and residency. Currently finishing up a prestigious fellowship. No she is not yet officially “working” but has plenty of options for the next phase. Yes to me, this is operating at top of her profession. |
Not a fan, to be honest. Too much vinyl siding. |
That’s what you get for $1.4…. I’ve seen much worse. what are you expecting, full masonry construction? A half acre lot in Vienna (if you can even find it) will set you back $1.2..,, |
Humble brag on an anonymous website. And too dumb to comprehend the stupidity of it. Priceless!
|
| Oakton HS along with Madison HS, both located within proximity in Vienna have always been neck and neck in the rankings for as long as I can remember. Most recently however, Oakton has distanced itself, moving up the rankings significantly. I don’t know why or how however. Our kids attend Madison HS btw. |
Well, let's answer that simple question. Asian enrollment at Oakton: 32.79% Asian enrollment at Madison: 15.64% |
It’s fugly. |
So…does that mean Oakton athletics have fallen correspondingly…lol? |
| Can you even find something similar in Vienna for 1.2M range? This atleast is a brick house in a nice, manicured community. For $1.2M you can barely find an ugly and old townhouse in Kings Manor, Mclean. |
+1 |
Oakton does just fine. Schools that are whiter and wealthier like Madison and Yorktown tend to do better at more sports, even with smaller enrollments. If Oakton loses kids from Crossfield or Navy with the opening of the Western HS its sports teams won’t do as well. |
Those townhouses aren’t ugly, and you get Langley and much greater proximity to DC, if that matters. |
