It’s very common for us. I haven’t seen many white women with the same type of dark under-eye circles. Nothing wrong with what OP asked. Stop being offended by everything. |

I don’t think the mention of being Indian is irrelevant here - South Asians are genetically prone to dark circles! And there are some brands of makeup are more suitable for south Asian skin tones than others.
I’m offering solidarity to your teen! I am finally at the stage of my life where I’ve accepted that there’s not too much I can do about them. I use concealer, sparingly, because I don’t like too much makeup. I like Nars. I also have to make sure I moisturize thoroughly because the skin is prone to drying and showing wear and tear. If she’s open to wearing heavier makeup you can search instagram for “desi makeup” and there are quite a few young women posting videos. There’s a subreddit called brown beauty she might find useful. |
Stop being smug and wrong. |
Why do white women need everything to include them? |
+1. I’m a white lady with dark circles who was following this thread because it seems like a lot of Indian American women have got this figured out and I’d like their advice! I think I get it from my Sicilian side. I will try a more reddish color corrector and see if it helps me—I’ll try anything! |
| Op here. As the other ppl have pointed out, I am mentioning that she is half Indian because in terms of skin care a lot of my recommendations in the past have not worked well with her skin. Thanks for all the advice . |

NYX pro fix stick in peach is the only thing that works for me. Hydration and using good moisturizer helps
Fellow Indian |
You were right to clearly mention her skin tone. Most makeup brands are not all inclusive so it wouldn’t have helped you if 85 WW weighed in all saying get the Maybeline pink color corrector. |

LIVE Tinted Hue Sticks in whatever shade of red works with her skin tone - also founded by an Indian-American woman. I have two and also really like their sunscreen.
There's a video on the site somewhere that shows Deepika the founder using this product. https://www.livetinted.com/collections/complexion/products/huestick-r-color-corrector?variant=44407132029113 |
| Oh also they sell Live Tinted at ULTA and Target. |
I'm sorry it sounds smug. I wanted to share because this is what my Indian mom taught me, and it works for her and for me (she's 70 and I'm 45), and we both may have some genetic predisposition towards it. When I don't wear eye cream and give my lower and upper eyelids a massage, and drink a ton of water, they do get dry and dark. |
Do you really think if it was so easy so many Indians would be walking around with dark under eye circles? /Indian with dark circles with drinks 100+ ounces of water per day. |
+1. Lucky you and your mom. Vasanti Cosmetics has a good color corrector that I use. But no makeup truly gets rid of them, unfortunately. |
I was JUST about to say Sicilian women have the same problem. |
| When you use color corrector, put a little powder over it. Let it sit, then use concealer. Works much better this way. |
