“Most” means 50%. I seriously doubt that half of incoming freshman quit or get cut. |
I’ll wager by senior year, more than 50% of the freshmen are no longer playing. |
It's more like by sophomore. If you are still on the bench most of time by sophomore, most kids quit. And international players come to play. |
Transfer portal players. |
| Most parents (and kids) around here think if they sign with a college team that is the prize. And I guess that is the pursuit for many. But the harsh reality is that more than half will not finish college on that team. And many of these players are the club standouts we see being celebrated right now. It will be harsh reality for many of them. All I can say is choose wisely. |
Parents are generally not realistic with what level their daughters can actually play and have some success...this is outside of all the other factors that go into it. And in fairness to many girls who go on to play in college there are injuries, better players in front of them at a specific position, struggles mentally on and off the field with confidence...on and on it goes. Some club coaches are totally honest with parents and their daughters and they simply don't listen or refuse to be honest about it. If you start with a realistic base you have a chance at success. I have heard over and over again about the girls who committed at elite soccer schools from other parents, "How did she get recruited there? She will never play there". |
Club TD connections with colleges. Some coaches only care about selling and promoting the club name. Some coaches care about becoming coach of the year thanks to number of committed players. Some clubs promote misleading information and the colleges buy it. |
| Very very quiet on the boys’ side. I haven’t heard if many at our HS/Club. Only 1 kid my kid attends HS with and a f r Jen’s at a different club. |
| Are they coming later than usual or is this due to transfer portal, want older players? |
The 50% you are talking about which is way too high of number are not really recruited scholarship players...roster spots. The girls that are very good athletes/players, get recruited, get athletic money and sign (which is a small percentage of girls), go and play. If a college roster has 28 players...8 or 9 of them are there for practice. Your generalization is off. |
No they don’t!! |
So… none? |
Visit the social media sites of area clubs. This is very easy information to find. You’re obviously a troll and nobody is going to post their child’s information so you can crap all over them on an anonymous forum. |
I didn't start this you nut! I was just wondering why this information would be so toxic. |
| Clubs celebrate and post at different times, some do early singing in the fall, others wait till the spring to do the senior signing day and social media announcement etc. |
