Some high schools offer it as one period because otherwise they wouldn’t have enough students interested in taking the class. At least that’s how it is at my high school

Interesting. I wasn't aware that schools would give credit for it without it including a lab component.

Except the College Board requires a certain number of lab hours for the AP designation.

FYI the exam for the Chemistry AP this past session was tough, a much smaller percentage of students achieved a 5.

I thought I would mention this as while some AP curriculum are being diluted / reduced, Chemistry absolutely is not.

Not true - 17.9% got 5s, same as 2024. https://apstudents.collegeboard.org/about-ap-scores/score-distributions/ap-chemistry
