Tips for growing taller

Do your DD and DS have the same bio parents? It's interesting that your DD is predicted to be above average and your DS is predicted to be below average. Are your children very young? If so, the estimates aren't very accurate.

American kids without serious illness or growth disorder will be the height they are supposed to be.

But what if the height the boy is “supposed to be” is not tall enough ?

You need the height equivalent of "I must, I must, I must increase my bust."

My son was always around 20th percentile for height. Around 14 when puberty kicked in he increased to 40th percentile and has been steadily increasing in percentile since. I expect he will at least be an average height (5’8” -5’10”) when he is done growing.

Genes can express in funny ways. Do you also wonder why siblings can look nothing alike while having the same parents?

I think sleep makes a big difference. Anecdotally, a medical professional told me in late 2020 that she was seeing kids grow much more than expected that year.

Accept your son will be average height

My grandma used to give my dad an extra vitamin and have him hang from a chin up bar but he still ended up 4 inches shorter than his little brother.

I don’t think you’ve got much control over this so long as he’s getting adequate nutrition and rest. But he might surprise you. As others have said, kids grow at different rates. My son who was always 30-50% is now closing in on the height of his brother who was 90+ % all through elementary/middle school but who I’m pretty sure is done growing at 16. I think both will end up around 5’11”

It’s largely tied to nutrition - grandparents and parents nutrition. Not much you can do about it now.
However, you could focus on excellent nutrition for your kids. Veggies, whole grains, legumes. Plant based meals.

Sleep, quality nutrition, exercise.

Cows milk.

This will not make you taller, but more likely to reach your height potential.

In high school, he should be in the HS gym lifting.

pp 8:52 again. My husband is 5'6". My son is convinced weight lifting in HS mattered, mattered to reach his full height potential (what he thinks, even if not proved, has importance) He saw himself as strong and an excellent athlete. Good self image.

He also suspected young men on ADHD medication were stunting their growth. That's a generalization of course.

Dietary, sleep or exercises, which are the most important factors from your experiences? DH's family side have tall height gene, and they are all taller than 6' for men. DS is 11 and with 85 percentile in weight and 30 percentile in height.

THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING YOU CAN DO.

I didn't do absolutely nothing... I"m 5.4", my husband 6". Our boys are 6.1" and 6.2" but I didn't do ANYTHING to make that happened. Stop playing GOD people!.

I would be more concern with his weight right now. 85% for weight is very high when he's only 30% for height. But I'm sure the doctor told you that as well...
