You kid's sickness isn't dumb, but posting here is. Take your kid to a doctor. Nobody here can help you. |
Nah, this mom needs to learn how to take care of her kid. Posting here won't do that. |
You need to learn to MYOB and STFU if you can't be helpful/useful. Continuing to argue here won't do that. |

| Well, whatever it is causes razor blade sore throat, cough, phlegm, congestion, headache but no fever and lasts for 4+ weeks. Was better for a week and then Bam! Thank you, kids! Strep/covid negative. |
Instead of posting here go to the doctor. |
| Here we go again… |
| Had this! Sore throat (lost voice completely at one point) and fatigue, no other symyoms, not COVID, i tested twice. Went away in about 5 days, i didnt have to take any days off work for it. |
| Yep my child is just now getting to the end. Negative for strep/flu/covid/rsv. No body aches or headaches but loss of voice, cough, irritated throat, and 2 days of high fever. Very strange illness going around. Some kind of cold virus mutation. Stay safe out there folks! |
Thank you- how long did it last? |
| We’ve been dealing with something that causes one day of fever and then weeks of relentless coughing. (Been cycling through my kids’ hockey team - doctor said it’s going around, but maybe that’s just what they say to everyone about everything.) |
67 hours. |

My kid had something like this -flu b
Tested negative on home test , but tested positive at doctors office the next day ;which was several days into symptoms , probably 2bd day of fever ) |
This is OP. Thanks for your advice, I guess? I'm actually a seasoned mom of multiple children with a lot of experience taking care of sick kids over many years. In my experience, asking around to get an idea of what we could be dealing with is, in fact, very helpful in taking care of them. Of course, posting here isn't all that I'm doing. I would encourage you, next time you have an ill child with an unknown illness, to do the same thing. For anyone who is in the same boat, the kid tested negative for flu, Covid and strep. A few days into it, developed a rash so the provider brought her back in and tested for mono - also negative. So it appeared to have been one of those unidentified viruses that just need to run their course. The fever did get high at times, and lasted for 3-4 days. Then a few more days post fever of feeling tired and run down. Was never tested for RSV or Hand Foot and Mouth. |
