No MCPS elementary school has cameras.

They all have cameras everywhere

I understand youre upset and tickling is inappropriate. But there is a greater harm in over reacting. You are modeling how to handle adversity and running away and shutting down isnt the model you want to give. Unless you left something out, this was not a sexual assault or a physical battery. It was unwanted physical contact, it can be seen as grooming behavior but thats it. Your child is resilient enough to handle that without letting it stop their entire social.and academic lives.
Our children will deal with all kinds of behavior in their lives and not all of it positive.
I would be on the phone with the principal and in a meeting first thing in the AM. I would email the teacher and let them know that it happened and that you will not tolerate it happening again. If your child is capable of understanding and acting, I would go over how to day "stop, dont touch me" and telling the next trusted adult. And I would send them immediately back to school.
My guess is the aid will be pulled immediately.

Its unwanted physical touch and its potentially grooming behavior. Its unprofessional at best and a sign of the aid wanting to habe a physical relationship with a child, in any manner, at worst.

This is a great answer.

OP already had a meeting scheduled with the school for two days ago.

Back in the day, the Principal of our elementary school in Bethesda told us (the PTA) that the cameras we saw in and around the school were not actually working.

So... don't assume you can get video evidence from anything at school.

Absolutely! Do this immediately.

You should request that your child be placed with another aide. That's all.

MCPS will be on the hook.if anything inappropriate has happened. Your SN child is entitled to a safe and appropriate education. MCPS and education lawyers will know that.

I would seriously consider reporting to the police. The school system rarely investigates possible sexual predation well. In addition, they do not have access to the tools the police do. The school system, for example, will never get a warrant to access the accused's computers or devices, which often show evidence of sexual predation.

I would speak to an attorney about this before you do it, so you know what the process is, and you and your child are represented by counsel when filing a police complaint.

There’s zero chance of getting a phone or computer warrant on these facts. That’s an unreasonable expectation.

Do you actually think this is a new thing? That everything was rosy years ago and there was never inappropriate behavior? Because if you do think that, there’s really no help for you.

Gross. This totally could be grooming and you’re right to report it. At my MS some of our aides are former students who have special needs themselves. I could see one of them doing something like this because of lack of judgment. What do you know about the aide?
