Woke up in the middle of the night with what felt like heart pounding out of my chest. What was that?

Afib possibly. Get a check, and before that, wear a smart watch that detects atrial fibrillation, because individual checks might not pick it up when you are not presenting.

Your blood sugar dropped. Get a continuous sugar monitor to confirm that.

get a heart rate monitor and a blood pressure monitor. next time this happens, take both. also let your doctor know. you may need to see a cardiologist for some testing.

A few years ago, this happened to me a few times in a month. Scary! I had a full health check and cardiologist check with a few weeks of monitoring. Health wise, I was on the borderline for hyperthyroidism but it resolved. Cardiologist said I had classic perimenopause symptoms (after heart monitor study revealed nothing).

I spent a good chunk of peri menopause like that.
