Are there differences in the ethics of various cell phone companies?

You want cell phone carrier with morality? Good luck with that.

Just look for the best price/plan for your situation. Your moral stand or whatever you think you're doing is pointless.

OP here, and thanks! That's really helpful. And AT&T is the clear winner:

We just switched from AT&T to t-mobile, so that's a little disappointing!

That said, we had a lot of incentive to switch - $1200 in t-mobile and/or Costco gift cards and three free phones. No trade in required so we could give an old phone to our teen.

We pay $135 a month for the 3 of us and we have an unlimited data plan, which I think is the highest plan. And it really is unlimited. The bill is always the same no matter how much data we use or how many times we are out of the country.

I'm sure there may be cheaper options, we've been on Fi pretty much since it came out so I haven't looked into them for years. But we are happy with it because we just don't have to think about anything. Don't have to worry about international travel, don't have to worry about data.

Do you have to have a Google phone for it? I despise androids.

Very happy with T-Mobile. Monthly costs on Essentials are much lower, it is unlimited, has great international roaming, includes 5G, and we also got nearly free new iPhones.

When we switched, T-Mobile paid off the last 21 months of our 24 month installment purchase from VZW without requiring a contract or a high-end service plan.

You are welcome, op! (My brother is a CWA field technician).

T-Mobile is the best. Paid off remaining installments on all of our brand new iPhones when we switched. Their unlimited plan is so much cheaper and coverage is same or better.

Wow - this thread reminds me of my long distance company

Working Assets.

Ah the 90s landline - going through the bill and roomies highlighting their calls.

One roomie never added her check to the envelope. What a b.

We just switched from TMobile to Mint for cost reasons.

OP, I saw the headlines about TMobile and I get the desire to vote with your dollar but I don't think any of them is particularly good. Some things cannot be fixed by the consumer.
