Are private schools really that special or just overpriced?

Between tuition that rivals college and the pressure to get in, are we truly paying for better academics or just smaller classes, nicer facilities, and the right peer group? If you strip away the brand names, are the results such as college placement, student well being, and critical thinking skills really that different from the top public and charter options? What do you think?

You should be asking how class size, facilities, and peer group affect academics.

Yes, because you can only expect to create little monsters in public schools.

Private schools are overpriced and worthless. You should pull your kid(s) out of yours now, and take all your questions to the public school forum. Far better.

Nice try, but we don't want the OP AI bot on the public school forums either.

No, patents just want pure man-made adulation of private schools.

Yes we’ve patented our self-love.

No need to do that, few will copy that irrational behavior.

And I didn’t spend 55k a year on it.

Which MCPS school is this?

Also what do the presence of kids with significant disabilities have to do with this?

We have ours in private school at early ES level. No screens in school, that’s what we are paying for right now. We may consider public as they age up a bit.

Maybe you can ponder that question and let us know given that most private schools refuse to admit kids with significant disabilities (absent a few that were established to serve kids with special needs).

Who cares what other people spend their money on? If you don't think you're missing out then what's the problem?

Both overpriced and special. Both can be true.

I see it in a similar way as the us healthcare system. Way more expensive than any other rich country, with poorer results. Value for money is lacking in many private schools.

Wait to hear how the parents that pay 55k justify themselves. It’s pretty funny I might say.

Honey, we spend more than that on vacation.

That’s what I meant. Your justification is funny.

Nobody cares. You know you could never afford it and you're mad that other people can do it without a second thought. They don't actually have to "justify" it because the cost is irrelevant.

Another funny justification ☝️.
