How will clubs make the school year teams?

What have other clubs planned?

Fairfax Union is doing the same thing. Friend with a 2014 said practices started this week.

What are those issues?

Poor U-littles technical development

Low iq and decision making from not watching the sport on TV or live being played by the best

Coaches without proper knowledge, experience, training and licenses to teach (not coach) U-littles

Parents giving input and having too much clout with little soccer knowledge

Need more?

What does that have to do with by vs sy?

Arlington has proactively had individual discussions with families of current trapped players about this year’s placement and next year’s expected placement after the SY transition. Silence from other clubs.

I think the hardest decisions are kids who fall after 8/1 but would be playing “down” a graduation year.

Arlington Staffer or Parent of a mediocre player,

How do you know other clubs have been silent?

As a club you'd never do this because it would screw the player up when it comes to recruiting. If they cant make the A team they'd be put on the B team with players their grade.

This was very poorly written and creates additional questions.

They would have been better off saying nothing.

I like below. So much was written but nothing was said. They could just said we'll pick the teams players play on. Also as a parent why would you allow a club to play your kid on a grade down team? Why even play competitive soccer if your chances to play in college are slim to none because the club is playing your kid down a grade?

Q: Can a player born between August 1 and September 30 play up if they are in the higher school grade?

A: School grade may be considered as part of the evaluation, but the decision to allow a player to play up is ultimately based on technical criteria including the player’s skill, maturity, and readiness for the older age group. Grade alone does not guarantee that a player will play up.

Exactly the point

BY or SY doesn't solve the fundamental issues and problems giving us subpar youth soccer quality, development and growth

Here's another one. They say grade in school does not determine registration. But in the next sentence they call out "a child held back a year in school, will not be impacted" Arent you just saying the same thing twice. Also using the words not impacted make it seem like somehow players held back a year are in some way ok. When reality they'll still be forced to play up on a team with players their age.

Q: Is registration based on your grade in school?

A: No it is still based on your date of birth to determine the age group you will play. A child held back a year in school, will not be impacted.

This doesn’t screw up recruiting. A competent club gets their players committed. You are all so easily tricked.

Going to SY isn't meant to solve your individual concerns so don't be upset when it doesn't.

Put yourself in a college coaches shoes and remember that most programs have 100s of players reaching out to play on their team.

Would you choose players playing on teams that are their grade in school?

or

Would you choose players playing on teams that are a grade down from their grade in school?

The problem with playing down a grade is their ability to play against players their grade and older in college comes into question.

It was nebulous and contradictory in multiple places.

They could have written we'll decide which teams players play on and there would be less questions.
