Ha, you are extremely wrong. My nephew got in last year TO with a high gpa and rigor, 4s and 5s on AP exams, and his SAT score was 1080. Some kids don’t test well and those are the ones who apply TO. A 1320 is close to the 25th percentile for SUBMITTED scores at UVA, why would you think it is low “even for them” (those who choose not to submit)? |
This is your answer. Apply, and if UVA is a top choice, then consider applying ED. It’s a great school with every possible opportunity afforded to the students. |
Don’t listen to the pp. Good Lord. |
THIS! CALL THE PRINCIPAL! |
A 1320 IS NOT close to the 25th percentile. It is 1410. According to SCHEV the SAT for students applying this fall was a 1510 at the 75th percentile, a 1470 at the median and a 1410 at the bottom 25th percentile. A 1320 isn't even close - you would submit that ONLY if URM, first generation or otherwise hooked in a significant way. |
| A 1320 is going to hurt the application. Get it removed from the transcript tomorrow. Go to the school and don’t leave until they fix it. |
Not mine. Not a good chunk of the UVA athletes. |
You would have no way of knowing this. TO scores can be extremely low. DP |
| How was there a clerical error? Are you telling the truth? |
NO WONDER !! That's why UVA ranking is dropping! |
Why would I make it up? What kind of question is that? He didn’t care that the score was on there originally because it’s a solid score for most of the schools he is applying to. FWIW, he only took the test once with no prep and didn’t want to bother taking it again since he was only applying to TO schools. Yeah, that was pretty lazy. Guess he wouldn’t be UVA material anyway. |
A 1080 is not "not testing well." That kid can't even be considered smart with the watered down SAT. Talk about gaming the system. Hopefully they're majoring in lib arts and have no plans for grad school. |
How is your nephew doing at UVA? |
Think what you will. He’s doing very well so far and I expect that he will continue to do so. He also has a high IQ and tested as gifted in school. So I think your assertion that he “can’t be considered smart” is wrong. You sound jealous that your precious might not get in with their 1570. |
Plus, that’s a pretty decent score. |
