Oakton Freshman Football

I've no idea what happened--it must have been pretty bad. I hope they are learning a lesson and that no one is seriously injured --emotionally or physically.

However, these are Freshman boys--just months past middle school. They are not known for good judgment. Hopefully, this will be a learning experience for the perps and a lesson for the innocent in how not to behave.

DS played freshman football. They had a great coach who taught them respect. While he did not stay with football it was a very positive experience.

Why do the innocent need a lesson?

I’d appreciate knowing what happened. I have a son in other athletic programs at Oakton.

Feel free to email the principal and ask.

Have you asked your son? That is usually the best source.

Not necessarily. A similar incident in another non-FCPS high school I'm aware caused them to cancel their JV program this year and the rumors of what the kids said happened ended up being completely different than the official statement by the prosecutor (kid's family is pressing charges).

PP. Found an article for the incident I was talking about above. https://www.dnronline.com/news/public_safety/crime/three-page-county-students-charged-with-assault-involving-jv-football/article_95498acf-8a70-53c3-9053-e1170958f359.htm

Well, maybe they are still collecting facts at Oakton, as well.

These things are never easy to get to the truth--especially if rumors are flying.

The Principal will simply say they can't comment.

Hence the person coming to an anonymous forum to ask if people have knowledge. Yours is the most useless reply by anyone.

You embarrassed by what your kid did?

So, is it a kid who did the deed (whatever that is) or the kid who squealed/accused?

So how bad must this be if no one is talking?
