| WRT Crown, it seems like he was referencing lower enrollment and therefore a potential that they don't need an extra high school? Or did I misunderstand? |
And Damascus |
Or that they don't need it as immediately as they once projected. |
But they want money to renovate Wootton which is so close to Churchill? |
| Of course they are pretending they've gathered feedback on the program analysis when they haven't... |
Wootton deserves a renovation, nothing to do with Churchill |
| They clarified that after renovating Wootton and Magruder, Crown will open as a normal HS. That’s at least 10 years in the future. Things will change a lot at that time. |
| If MCPS's goal is to stop fighting for seats for magnet programs, it can just add programs. It does not need to enact a regional model. |
| They are trying to present the finalized program plan even faster in November? Clearly not planning on getting any meaningful community feedback on it first.. |
Jfc |
| New timeline: finalized programs analysis presented in November, BOE vote in March |
| Humanity is now moved to Whitman! |
| I can't believe they're trying to tie this together into ONE vote, instead of two. The Board has to decide on redrawn boundaries to account for the new schools. That's a completely separate decision from what to do with special application high school programs. |
| WTF, they're going to put the humanities region 1 program in freaking Whitman? That is outrageous. |
|
They are proposing folding education into public service.
For region 1, humanities moves to Whitman, medical science + healthcare moves to Einstein, Performing arts is split and Einstein gets music and Northwood keeps theater and dance |
