DD worried after incident…

My daughter is 15, and didn't go to the pep rally. She went to the media center to relax with friends. Yours is welcome to join!

Also, why does BCC disrupt the school day with so many entirely useless pep rallies? My older kids attended Walter Johnson and they either didn't have them at all, or very few. That school is more academic than BCC... BCC doesn't have their priorities right.

All schools have pep rallies for better or worse

I’d be more worried about the fight than the wig but you do you.

So media centers are open during pep rallies or special events?

How many pep rallies has this high school had this school year?

Wàsnt there an incident off school grounds last year on a day when the school had a pep rally?

Yes my DC saw the fight, it happened near where he was sitting. DC reported that someone (presumably one of the girls who were brawing) lost their weave. Apparently a ton of kids filmed the whole thing and somewhere there's a video of the weave going airboren. I'm not sure if a weave is the same as a wig but if OP's daughter isn't getting into fistfights at school on a regular basis, her wig is probably safe.

NP. This did occur at B-CC today. There was a community letter about the fight and my B-CC student said it involved two girls and one pulled the other one's wig. I asked him if that's what started the fight or if it was pulled during the fight and he said he didn't know. I don't think OP's DD needs to worry about it, though. It sounds like the girls new each other - not a random assault on someone wearing a wig.

What grade (s) are the students who were involved? Freshman? Sophomores?

Was it true that one of the Asst Principal slipped on it ? Hope they are okay too and no students were injured.

The one at BCC is open. If your high school doesn't have an alternate space for events, you need to ask that they open one. There's an adult on duty and kids need to sign in. Apparently today it was quite busy. BCC has pep rallies quite often, and kids get tired of them.

Yes, I also heard this from my kid who apparently was very nearby when the situation started.

My kid did not see that but he just showed me a shot from a video circulating online - it does appear that the Asst Principal slipped on the weave.

Not sure but several schools had pep rallies today and kids took advantage by skipping and breaking into other schools

Losing 5 minutes per classes is barely disruptive. Classes were 40 minutes long instead of 45.
