Why yes? Why ask why? |
| More room on the roads for the road racers and street-takeovers I suppose. |
| Yes, we live a 15 minute walk from a Metro station, so we don't drive that much except chauffering our kids around to activities--which we could get an uber to if we had to. |
The wealthier you are, the easier it is! What's not to love? |
How so? Plenty of lower soc-eco folks don't even own a car. |

what a dumb week
I guess we can just shut down all businesses too. Less energy usage! |

I sold my car about 10 years ago, and honestly, it's been a delight. One big thing not to worry about - I never need gas, or an inspection, or to go to the DMV, or get the oil changed. I don't have to think about parking or saving for a new car. It's a huge money savings. Where are my lost sunglasses? Well, they're not in the car, that's for sure. I didn't realize what a headache the logistics of owning a car are until that part of my life was just... gone.
The problem is, that part is totally hidden on a car free week, plus you have to re-learn all the routines. I guess my point is, my car free life is awesome, some people who could be car free don't realize how nice it would be, and a car free week wouldn't really show them. |
