Always get discounted tickets to this. You just have to be on the lookout for codes. We went to Rockettes last year because it was on my bucket list and surprising to all of us, It was my 16 and 14-year-old’s favorite things we did and we did a lot of cool things while we were there.

I think you’ll have to do some planning to stay within that food budget. But depends how old the kids are and how much they eat.

Yeah, agree, I’ll probably go over budget!

dining out/ tickets for $1500 for a family four is way too low for 7 days. Maybe tickets alone will be that amount. Maybe $300 a day for food for a family of four?
have a great trip!

It is an expensive time to go. We are going in mid Dec for a show. Acela tickets were $240pp/round trip. Mid-town hotels were $500/night for not great hotels to about $1000/night for what I consider nice but not luxury hotels. The show tickets were $$$$. I would be surprised if you spent less than $3500.

We’ve gone a couple of years for MLK weekend. For a family of 4, we spent around $1,800-$2,000 total for 3 days/2 nights, including train tickets, parking at Union Station, hotel near Times Square, Broadway show, subway, museum admissions, all food, etc.

I would imagine hotels and probably train/plane tickets are a lot more expensive at Christmas time. Booking far in advance can help a lot.

We often get Amtrak tickets for under $100 roundtrip. We do book early and these are not Acela tickets. Train or driving is the way to go. I would never fly to NYC.

A couple of years ago, my family of 4 (1 kid young enough for child fare) paid less than $200 total for RT tickets DC to NYC. Booked months ahead.
