This. People interview very well and then can't even do basic work unless spelled out. I don't even believe anymore that the good employees are out there. They are all working.
I have 3 former employers reaching out to me every few months to see if I can come back to work. If I go looking for a job, I will be hired at the first place I enter. Do that for yourself.
I don't have to work for money anymore. I work very part time to help one of my bosses, because I like him. All this didn't come from luck. It came from being an excellent worker.
