BLC already has a lot of demand and usually fields two solid teams at each year, this partnership will likely increase the demand for BLC.
At the same time, I wonder if it will make Capital a little less appealing and decrease some of the demand since it seems like the primary and only viable pathway to Capital Blue is via BLC, specifically BLC Blue since BLC does not offer a lot of mobility between Orange and Blue (this varies by year but I have heard it is more likely for a player to make Blue from an outside club than from BLC Orange). So if you aren’t on BLC Blue, why waste your time vying for what may be only a small handful of spots? Also, to be clear, I am not hating on BLC’s Orange Teams, just calling out that (from what I have heard) most new members of Blue come from other clubs vs. promoting girls from within the club. |
| Tremendous news for BLC families. |
| Does this mean BLC is the pipeline for Capital now? |
| BLC is a non-profit. CLC is all about profit. How does a partnership like this work? |
Yes. From the post - "a clear and direct path to the Capital system" |
They will still exist as separate entities. |
If this is true it would mean the Capital 2029 teams are set with possibly a few exceptions |
2029 team was set this past summer. I think you are referring to the potential 2030 team. |
| It’s time for those of us not on blc blue to look to Baltimore. Carpool anyone? |
2029 Capital teams formed this summer... |
| Yep. Teams for 2030 are set BUT don't worry, they will still charge $100 a person and hold open tryouts for 200 girls to fill 2 spots. |
| BLC Blue 2030 has struggled the last couple of years-they are not nearly as good as the 27 team. Never been able to handle the Baltimore teams nor Hero's. Doubtful they are all going to make Capital. |
lol BLC 30 team is currently ranked #10. |
| BLC 2027 was ranked #4 and a number of them did not make Capital... |
