The Tennessee commit has been at Fairfax Union for years and just switched to Bethesda a month ago.

At least EIGHT players at VDA who committed have only been at VDA for a year or less. BP is on another level when it comes to getting players recruited however.

In BSC defense, the other commits have been there for years.

Arlington, NVA, and Union all have commits but there has been so much movement, I don't think any can be claimed. VDA took them all!

I don't think any of the GA teams have a commit thus far.

Why on earth do people think not making the field your freshman year means you are a bad player. Making it on the field your freshman year is HARD in any sport. Not everyone needs to be Messi. Most take the typical route which is to make a team, spend some time catching up to the older kids physically and mentally, then, hopefully as the older kids cycle out your playing time increases. This is what college sport is all about. Sure, plenty of kids get to school and decide the grind is just not worth it, but how could they possibly be prepared to make that decision until they live it. 7% of high school soccer players make ANY college soccer team. 1-2% play at the Div. 1 level. Take away international students and that number is even smaller. Kids making D1 are great players, whether or not they end up making the pros or the national team. They accomplished something only roughly 1% of kids can. Even getting to play D3 means you are better than 93% of the other soccer players.

It's not about that. It's more about DD reaction to not seeing playing time after being a star in Club soccer. Doing two-a-days, busting your a$$ to not be rostered. It drives these players to depression. It's sad actually because it is all they know. Please don't act like you don't know a star player or starter on your local Club team with parents who are all soccer, no school. They are at every private training and sometimes home schooled. They are good players but not USYNT quality. Maybe the questionable 1st team or 2nd team ECNL All Conference player. Maybe not even that, but still go to a P4 only because it is a P4. These are the players that I'm talking about.

Yeah, BP is certainly able to promote his players and pull players in...if you want to look at a club that has had a core group that has played together since U13, look at Richmond - their 2027 group has placed a ton of players in P4 programs this cycle - UT, VT, Iowa, Pitt, Ole Miss off the top and has players committed to Rice, Dartmouth, Xavier as well.

Richmond is a large city and they are the only game in town for miles. I admire what Richmond is doing, but they are not really in an equivalent situation to what the DMV area is facing. This is why less dilution is needed, not more.

That is awesome for Richmond but they’re not dealing with the same challenges the nova clubs deal with. I always find it really funny when parents get on here and complain about player movement. If your kid was good enough, then you would move them to the best team to improve them as a player and get them recruited. They call it “poaching” and “recruiting” as if my DD is legally bound to stay with the team she played U6 soccer for.

Many of them then go into severe depression because no playing time, hard practices, etc but so many parents just push soccer their entire youth and don’t worry about education.

So many parents here are 100% clueless. If your kid isn’t a USYNT member, it’s an uphill climb at P4. Let’s take Tennessee for example. I think they are up to 8 ‘27 commits. I would wage heavily, maybe 2 or 3 will see playing time freshman year. But hey, at least those other 6 can brag that they participate in practice meanwhile their teammate is getting Freshman of the week at ODU who turned down that partial P4 2 years earlier.

But if your DD is in it for an education as a priority, I take no issue with that decision. Unfortunately being around for so many years I know that is not the case.

This is a stupid and silly post. USYNT members include people that make camp but not roster is 45 per age group max? Each P4 will take (even with the new limits) on average 4 girls. There are about 68 P4 schools. That means they will take 272 girls for the P4. A couple of hundred more than are USNYT.

Most teams play freshman at last some. Some do not play - just like football and every other sport. Freshman volleyball girls do not play that much either.

Believe what you want. I follow it. There currently at least 5 freshman from our area at P4s that have not been rostered for a single game yet. There are also sophomores that have yet to see a minute including freshman year. Others have already quit.

You are also forgetting about transfer portal both leaving and incoming. Top GA players. Internationals. But yeah, if you think a role player on a good ECNL team is going to role right into a P4 and get minutes as a freshman, best of luck to you. Meanwhile, she could be Freshman of the week at ODU having a great time instead of being miserable at VT just because you wanted the “Parent of a Student Athlete at VT” bumper sticker.

Also remember just because someone may be on a good team, it doesn’t mean they are great. It’s the great players that make the other players around them better. It’s also the coach, the system, the level of competition, etc.

She might’ve also wanted the degree from virginia tech instead of odu?

Arlington I think has one. Bethesda has 4 or more, MD United has at least 2, Pipeline has at least 3. GA teams are struggling for commits.

With new roster limits, possible 5-year eligibility, and transfer portal, less and less spots available. Should be noted ‘27 is on record pace nationwide.

Good luck!

Did you see how ga teams performed in June Showcase event? It wasn’t pretty. The only GA in the playoffs this year, also did not do very well. We heard many coaches watched the events but very few liked what they saw. 👉ECNL parent.

lol. What most of these players and parents don’t realize is that the full pay players and feeder money players are subsidizing the scholarship players. After year one they reduce the money, not increase it…leaving parents paying out of state tuition for doubling other players athletic scholarships.
