I’m a bum |
+1. Just getting through my day is enough activity for me. |
I didn’t do activities bc my parents had a lot of other kids and couldn’t pay for extras, plus I was spending a lot of time babysitting my younger siblings. So I read a lot. Got into an Ivy and now run a book publisher. |
No activities as a kid because my parents couldn’t afford it and didn’t have time to take me to things. I wish I could play a musical instrument and/or did dance, a sport etc. But I read, eat healthy (didn’t learn this in childhood so a big departure for me), practice a foreign language I learned in school, and exercise. I’d still like to try an instrument. Now that I think of it, the main thing that I see people using regularly that they learned in childhood is tennis, and maybe playing a musical instrument to relieve stress? |
So selfish |
I wanted to do activities but I wasn't sporty (I was petite) so my parents wouldn't sign me up for any sports. I don't know how to hit a baseball. I can't throw either. It bothered me for a long time that no one would show me how. They taught my younger sister and she did get to play sports.
I mostly read as a kid and really never got into watching TV, still don't. I have a normal amount of activities as a kid- I travel, work out at the gym (finally became athletic in high school when I got access to a gym), and spend a lot of time with my kids. I married a man who played 3 sports a season, which I think is pretty funny. |
I also rotted in front of the TV, as the 'babysitter' of my 2 little brothers. I did read a lot and I had a job in high school. I got into a good college but I just went crazy partying there, finally not having to take care of my brothers. Then in my 20s things evens out and I do a lot of fitness activities, travel, hiking, etc. So I don't mind when my own kid doesn't want to do many activities. As long we get appropriate exercise. |
