I am looking at the cost of drivers Ed - and the most convenient for us is I drive smart that is >600/-

Ofcourse, there are many other things that I would wish MCPS could add, including more hands on science labs, science fairs/competitions.

Why?

From this teacher's perspective: providing substitute funds for field trips! When I worked in AACPS, central office always covered the cost of substitutes for field trips. This meant that teachers could focus on providing enriching, out-of-classroom experiences for students without worrying about creating additional financial barriers. I would be willing to take students on more field trips if this were the case.

Integrity? Nah. Too much of a stretch.

I'd settle for what the others said about supporting high performers equally without sandbagging others in the name of "equity"

This is not an add but a subtraction; I would break it up. The system is just too big (numerically and geographically) to be responsive to local communities and families.

Do your kids have cell phones? What grades? How do you propose they communicate with parents on schedule changes?

Most teachers don’t want to. Schools and PTAs often supplement.

The same way we did in the 90s and early 2000s. Go to the office and call home

They need to get the basics right. Do the background checks. Pay teachers timely.

Stop with the nonsense lawsuits that have no chance of being successful (allowing opt outs). Admit when wrong and move forward.
