Men= W&M VA TECH JMU Women= Va Tech Richmond W&M UVA has lost its luster specifically for womens soccer in the past 4 years. Great school. Terrible place to play womens soccer. No pro recruits (real pro no Jr pro(, haven't made it to ACC tournament, haven't gone far in NCAA tournament. Yeah.. they win a few games against Loyola, Howard and Fairleigh Dickinson but get stomped WF, Duke, FSU, Michigan etc. No facilities. You can only live in your 2020 performance for so long. |
| What about GMU? |
| Are you asking about male or female? |
| Mary Washington and CNU are excellent D3 teams. |
UVA lost in the second round of the NCAA tournament last year. Richmond and William and Mary had losing records. What happened? Your little baby wasn’t good enough to get recruited by UVA? Let me guess, she got screwed at the ID Camp? |
besides the top 3 listed what are other programs worth playing at? d1, d2 or d3. any less known? |
Including W&M on the men’s side over UVA essentially invalidates anything else you type. |
Leaving uva out of both lists invalidates everything PP says. |
Sorry, I didn’t get past the third line of text so I missed that. |

Ok. Here's my UVA take - They made the NCAA tournament last year after what I thought wasn't a great year and have a solid recruiting class coming in with some top ranked players that can make a difference. That being said, I agree that they aren't great when it comes to the facilities, athletic scholarship $$, etc as compared to other top programs. They are trying to ride the prestige of UVA overall to attract players which while great, isn't the only thing. Getting full offers (Tuition, Room & Board, Fees and monthly stipend) from other comparable D1 programs and then being told you can play, but pay in state tuition just isn't cutting it. For women's programs, Christopher Newport should be on the list for D3 programs. They have been solid and made the Final 4 last year. Richmond and W&M - kinda group them in the same bucket. I'd pick W&M over Richmond knowing players and their experiences from both programs. |

Girls if you’re answering for your thoughts on GMU. |
Not the original boys or girls poster, but here's my take on GMU. Coach AB has been in place for a few seasons and is really pushing to upgrade the quality of the program and get the players that fit what he wants to do - know several players that are either transferring or are committed there. Based on AB's past success, program on the rise in my opinion. |
