You've hit the nail on the head, PP. I'm sure OP is dying to spend 3 months of the year vacationing in . . . suburban Atlanta. Sounds sublime.

That’s intriguing considering we have a kid in the area. He’s young so not sure he would be thrilled if we bought something (maybe different when have kids and wants some help).

Somewhere in Maine on a lake that is an easy drive to skiing.

I’ve done Rangeley in the winter, it’s great. Need to spend some time there in the summer.

I don’t know about the wisdom of investing in it, but Stowe is magical in the fall and summer. It SHOULD be a destination.
