DC ladies Fashion is TERRIBLE

I thought we were MAGA now and all the women wear tight sheath dresses and hair extensions?

Truly there is nothing women can wear without someone carping about it so who cares.

That might explain why my poor DH gets hit on by men.

Not true. But to be fair, it doesn't take much to make a man look great. A nice suit, nice leather shoes a nice tie. He can wear the same thing daily and the styles rarely change.

Different priorities and different budgets. Not everyone spends large chunk of time and money on superficial stuff.

In my circle I see a lot of great taste, high quality fabrics and cuts, and even the ladies who claim to not care about fashion look like they are at least wearing what their personal shoppers picked out for them. Skincare, hair care, makeup--everyone is checking those boxes.

Compared to the working class, which is a toss up of those too tired to care (shifts and sneakers crew) with tote bags, no nail polish, maybe minimal makeup.

Then the middle class group that shops at Ross/Kohls/Shein with the crazy prints and cheap poly fabric. Their shoes are usually from Target, not real leather. Purses are some kind of DHgate knock off in fake leather as well. Hair is usually too long and needs a trim, usually has chipping or grown out gel polish. Too much makeup.

Aren't you special

+1. If they did, that would be true fraud, waste, and abuse.

Did you really the men look great? The rest of your post is immediately invalidated, sorry.

I’m on the metro today with air dried hair, a nondescript navy blue dress and sneakers. I just don’t care enough to try harder than appropriate.

This is true, and caring too much about fashion and appearance is vain and shallow. People in DC have more important things to care about - like the future of the nation.

We do it to piss you off, OP. Glad to see it's working.

I was actually thinking the opposite.

I'm in a wealthier area, and the women here tend to be very fit with good hair and no-makeup makeup. They wear summery dresses with metallic sandals, matching workout gear, and sleek corporate wear.

In my opinion, DC has become more stylish over the past ten years.

The smarter you are the less you have to dress up.

You don’t need to dress up if you’re a physicist, statistician, researcher, computer programmer, ….

Let’s face it people dress for other people. People with high self-esteem don’t need that external validation
