I’d love to hear how regular people are earning an extra $2–3K/month on the side.

I did mystery shopping and was a tester for Bath & Body Works for a while. Maybe I was doing it wrong, but I just got free products/meals. I didn't get money. And all the lotions I tested were either fine or had a slight medicinal smell. That's literally the only feedback I could give them.

Laundry app. Start doing laundry for other people. You can easily net $1000 a month.

Shef.com. You can start cooking a dish or so for people and they pick it up from you. Check it out. I don't know how much people make. Similarly, in my immigrant community, there are housewives that will cook dishes for parties, that you can order and pay for. The going rate could be any thing from $70-$120 for a big aluminium foil tray worth of food. Usually word-of-mouth.

House cleaning on the weekends. If you do even 2 homes on the weekend - you will make around $400 a week. $1600 a month.

You can become a tutor at home or through a company like C2. The best part is that you teach after work for a couple of hours.

Get training so that you can become a weekend hospice or elder care worker.

Do some kind of childcare + fun craft activity for kids for a couple hours during the week through the county recreation dept.

Dog walking. Baby sitting. Substitute teacher.

You can rent out your basement. OR take in a lodger, boarder or roomer for just a room in your house - (only if you know them well) - and provide room and/or board.

Blogging. I started one based on personal interest, added affiliate links once I got traffic, and it netted $1k plus per month for several years, even when I stopped posting.

I know a couple of people with long commutes who will DoorDash along their route home. Doesn’t really add a ton of extra gas costs and they can net anywhere from $25 to $100 a night.

You need to have a commute route going through profitable neighborhoods.

This is the best. And fun and can be exciting reading up to teach.

Also those earning on the side might also be sending their money to their Swedish/off shore (not sure which country is popular these days) like the politicians on Capitol Hill do

There’s a guy in my neighborhood who resells Facebook marketplace furniture for $1,500 per set on average, usually large pieces he picks up for free or under $200 a pop.
