Great hiking but the summer is not great. I did three days backpacking there but it was October — could easily make a week of it.

Others have named some great places. I would add Cape Breton, Nova Scotia and Fundy trial in New Brunswick.

I had the benefit of being with my active duty spouse, living in Germany when we did this trip. We had resources on base to help. There is not one site that has all this information, but many huts are operated by the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC). I would start there.

Go to Rick Steves travel forum for info on the Swiss Alps. He has an episode on it on YouTube and it gives you all resources and rest stops or hostels that you need.
