Mine is getting one for college, does anyone recommend covers or anything special to protect? |
He got one for 9th grade in the fall of 2019. Still going. I don’t have money to replace it because he ruined it by water from a water bottle. |
Through college and still a couple years after . |
4 years and counting, from rising high school junior to rising college junior. |
One can always buy a refurbished one directly from Apple . You should have a protection plan Or next time don’t get a Mac And or start saving now $20 a month just in case |
7 years so far |
Mine lasted about four years, then had battery issues. Kid's is now four years and also having battery issues. |
A protection plan isn't for when your child is irresponsible and dumps water on it. If my child does that, he can figure out how to replace it. He wouldn't do that because he has been raised that I'm not made of money and if he screws up his laptop because he is irresponsible, he can buy another one. Heck, he has more money than I do from his summer jobs. |
3 years and still going ... will be a senior next year. |
My ADHD kid is on her 3rd (and 1/2).Two in high school, and her college one just had to be refurbished under the apple plan. One was stolen out of her car, one had a water bottle incident and one was dropped. Been through 2 ipads as well. It is ridiculous. |
4 years, 3 years, 8 years. kid, kid, mine. |
any cover will do. protection plan makes sense for college. one roommate accidentally spilled a drink on another roommates computer. another tripped downstairs and it fell out and broke. Accidents are just that and they happen to otherwise responsible people, especially at college |
Exactly, think people are being overly harsh. I’m meticulous about all things and I’ve had accidents. It’s inevitable. |
3 years a counting |
You will have zero spill accidents when you don’t have drinks around electronics. My 5 yr old knows that. |
