Met at a bar. |
Met as interns in DC after graduation. We both moved cross country two months later to DC in order to be together. Got married at 25. We both said we knew it was forever the night we met. |
Arranged by families through blind date. |
He picked me up at a bus stop 31 years ago - told me I was his neighbor and he'd take me to metro. This arrangement turned into a 5 yr drive to metro. Much later after his divorce we decided to become involved. Friendship turned relationship. |
our story is as vanilla as it gets. met first year in college in 1981 (2nd year for my spouse), dated thru college, started working, saved money, got married (1989) ever since. only interesting fact is we have never had a fight all those years. love my spouse dearly. |
We met on a dating app in 2013. Not exactly a meet cute ![]() |
She fell asleep on my shoulder on a train ride from DC to NYC. She slept the entire ride. I didn't know what to do, I tried to gently moved her away but she wouldn't move. Then I said okay fine. I was nervous too because here we have a white girl falling asleep on a random Black man what could go wrong? So many things went through my head like can she accuse me of something
. When we got to NYC I had to wake her up. She was so apologetic when she realized what had happened then joked that I was more comfortable than a pillow. Turned out she was a young attorney and just very long days. I was a young Wall Street analyst at the time too so I understood the long hours. Rest is history. This was shortly before COVID. We married as soon as things opened back up again. Best person I have ever met. We are truly in love and have a lot in common. |
I joined the band in college to make some extra money. One time, we were hired to play at a couple of 25th wedding anniversary parties. At one of them, the couple celebrating was her parents. After our performance, she came up and asked me out—something that had never happened to me before. I eventually got to know her family well, and her father, who was a CEO, offered me my first professional job after I graduated. We’ve now been married for almost ten years. |
Blind date to a country western themed dance during college. Her friend thought we would be a good match. Hit it off from the first moment we met the night of the dance. Married 20+ years and counting. |
Same. Bar trivia initially. And then, we ended up bumping into each other at another activity. |
A friend from college stabbed himself after a girl turned him down. The girl was moved by this and agreed to marry him. They celebrated their 25th anniversary last year!

I don't like going to bars because I don't drink. The first time my friends dragged to one within 5 mins a drunk gorgeous woman just came up to me and told me I had the most beautiful eyes she had every seen. She offered to buy me a drink and when I told her I don't drink she told her friend he is a keeper. We talked the whole night. 10 years later we have 3 kids together and happily married. |
If she decides to divorce him, will he threaten to blow his head off and then she will say? That's one weird relationship. |
We met on an anonymous forum 🤪
We talked back and forth for a month without any identifying info or idea what each other looked like. He asked if I'd want to meet and I wasn't totally sure if it was a friend thing or a date. I asked if he wanted my name or to see a pic of me and he said nope let's just go for it I've never had "conversational chemistry" like this. So we met at a train station and the conversation still hasn't ended. |
We met on a plane that got diverted to another city at midnight because of a storm. We had been chatting for most of the flight and when it landed the pilot said it was cancelled and I needed to rebook. Before we got to the gate he had rented a car and said it’s a five hour drive and did I want to come along and I said sure. My job was to make sure he stayed awake so between coffee and my non stop talking we arrived safely. I’m pretty sure I told him my life story during the ride. We had our first date that weekend and that was over 30 years ago. He has always been a great problem solver! |
