The previous article (linked in the NY Post story) says the victim was hit near Villa Paul. I looked it up on Google maps and it appears there is a sidewalk there. The linked article also says that the victim was walking in the roadway in the westbound lane, which means she was in the road facing traffic - maybe trying to cross the street? Also, it was 3 in the afternoon, so sure she could have been drinking, but maybe not. |
I’m 55 and I don’t have a lawyer. lol I always see call “their lawyer”. How many of you have a lawyer on retainer? I guess I’d call my uncle who owns his own law firm…tax law - so he’d prob find me one. Though I’d stop if I hit something …to see what it was. Deer, etc? But I don’t drink and drive so if it was an accident “it was an accident”. Makes me think of that Netflix eries “Your Honor”. It was good…kid hit and run and took off middle of the day….no reason to run. |
She fled = she was drinking. |
The accident was at 3 in the morning.... |
Yeah, that NY Post article is wrong. You do wonder why the lady that got hit was in the middle of the road with her suitcase at 3 in the morning. |
Maybe both of them are to blame... |
Maybe they were both drunk. |
This could be a heck of a commercial for Samsonite. |
Weird that you put this thread in Entertainment. |
There was a recent story today in The Post and the whole situation is really sad. The victim was homeless and walked around with her suitcase. She was known for doing this. She was much loved and her family was trying to get her help but she didn’t want treatment. It is way too hard to get someone treated for mental illness if they resist. Her former boyfriend was interviewed and confirmed that she didn’t have to be homeless but she was in mental distress. He was in contact with her. This could be bipolar or who knows what but she was an example that many of our homeless do have families who want to help them. I am thinking it explains walking in the street and why she was hit accidentally. The driver has more reason to argue they didn’t see her and tho it not they hit a cone. You do not expect someone in the street. This is all so very very sad. I know of several families dealing with this kind of situation where you have a child who is perfect and hard working and suddenly things fall apart. Mental illness so sad and horrible. |
Oh, that is incredibly sad. Her poor family. |
The boyfriend mentioned Adderall - addiction? |
