Np. I met with Jacono for a consult. I found him to seem sleazy and arrogant. And ime the fancy pricey doctors are fine but there is a lot of smoke and mirrors and marketing involved and people assuming a high price and a fancy office means good work. It does not. |
Was that a deep plane lift or just the top layer? |
How much weight did you lose? Was it just from pregnancies or other weight gain too? |
Make sure that the PS is an otolaryngologist and only performs facial PS. |
OP here. That was not me you were responding to. I know tummy tuck has a much harder and longer recovery time, which is why I’m not actually considering it yet, though I do want one in the future. |
I gained and lost almost 100lbs (crazy I know) in the last 5 years. Pregnancy involved but not just pregnancy. |
Thanks! I will check him out. How old are you and how much weight did you lose if you don’t mind me asking? |
Very happy with my results from Dr. Jabs in Rockville. Deep plane, $25k |
Not true. Board Certified Plastic Surgeons are trained to perform both body and face procedures. Some ( especially the younger ones with not too much experience ) may not be comfortable doing one or the other but a plastic surgeon worth their salt will know how to do both well. Also - many ENTs are not trained in cosmetic procedures. |
A few tips to choose the right surgeon: - Look for a "Board Certified Plastic Surgeon " who is also a member of the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. If seeking Facial work only, you can see someone who is certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery . Make sure that whoever you choose does mostly cosmetic work: You do not want an ENT who is mostly doing sinus surgery to do your facelift or a plastic surgeon who mostly does hand surgery doing your breast augmentation. Please be ware of similar sounding board certifications or societies such as "the American Society of Cosmetic Surgery" who any doctor who took some weekend class in injecting Botox can join. - Look at the before and after photos on their website. - A few other considerations: Who provides anesthesia for the surgery? Is it an anesthesiologist or a nurse anesthetist ? Do they operate in their own surgery center? This is an advantage as the surgeon usually would have the same team with them and thus more consistency/ better outcomes for you. What is the recovery phase after surgery like? How many times will your surgeon see you after your procedure? Some will only see you for 2 months after the surgery, some will keep seeing you until a year after to make sure your healing is going on as planned. - How frequently does the surgeon perform the procedure you are interested in? Also big plus if they are someone who is invited to conferences to lecture about that procedure to other surgeons. -Ask if they can give you names of patients who have had that procedure that you can reach out to and ask about how their experience was like (some surgeons will provide this) That's a good starting point. Best of luck finding the right plastic surgeon for you. |
Great advice, but isn’t it safer to have the surgery in a hospital rather than a surgery center? |
"Jack of all trades, master of none." That’s why so many people have botched plastic surgery because they are dealing with a PS that lacks expertise in a particular area. OP, you’ll want to find a PS who is a member of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. |
I had my breasts done by Dr Pittman and had a great surgery experience. |
