I mean, it was entertaining but the hyperbole is a bit much. |
+1 It seems pretty much like any other good UK procedural to me. Not quite Luther, Unforgotten, or Happy Valley level imo. |
I don't binge watch things. This was the first show I couldn't stop watching. |
I had trouble getting into it for the first 3-ish episodes, then I was hooked. Matthew Goode is fine in the lead role, but I really loved the supporting cast. Look forward to a 2nd season, which seems like a sure thing. |
+1! |
She had only met him once when he was still a preteen. When she meets him fifteen years or so later, he has obviously had growth and hormonal changes. And btw, he did look like Sam. They could have been brothers. |
I think she barely knew him, spent all her time with the brother. |
It was worth watching for the actors but I’m not really sure the plot holds up to a close look. And the accents were heavy because they are Scottish.
I don’t think it’s as good as Vigil or Slow Horses but not bad. |
Kate Dickie aka Lysa Arryn from Game of Thrones. Loved her scene at the end - so typical. |
I can’t believe the praise, the twist was utterly ridiculous. |
Not liking it so far and I love slow horses. Gloomy and the plot is boring. |
Interesting comments. I LOVED Dept. Q and don't like Slow Horses.
Based on these preferences, what should I watch next? |
Same here. I started watching Dark Winds. I've made it through the first season. The first couple of episodes were good then it kind of took a dive. |
But presumably everyone knows everybody in small towns like the one in this show. It was really an implausible scenario. I’m more baffled as to why UK shows can’t find more attractive actors. |
They focus on talent not looks. It's why their shows are so much better! |
