It was deleted, but I was able to see it and see her profile when it was unlocked. Took screen shots. I am honestly shocked and surprised at how openly antisemitic that teacher is even though she’s Jewish. It’s OK to be antisemitic if you’re Jewish, I guess.

There are issues on all sides of this right now. Just because someone is from Israel doesn’t mean they support or are committing the actions in Gaza. At the same time I (a Jewish mother) am part of the Jewish Moms of MoCo group on Facebook and was super disappointed to see how that group is posting a picture and attacking a student in graduation regalia because he had a keffiyeh on and complaining that that act is antisemetic. It’s not. Nor is thinking that what Israel is doing to the people of Gaza is horrific.

As a Jewish woman, people wearing things or decorating caps for graduation does not bother me. Those trying to hijack the ceremonies by chanting, changing speeches, and pulling out flags while on stage do. People should be respectful of all and ruining the experience for a political statement is not okay.

I have one graduating MCPS this week. I am anxious to see how things will be handled. I am hopeful that everything will be celebratory and politics will be left at home.

I think the issue is more MCPS has trouble firing administrators and teachers who really need to be fired. Too often when you check, the MCPS person has a history of doing the crappy thing before, was moved and —shock— does it again. I think the habit of transferring problematic MCPS employees creates these problems. I have heard of plenty LGBTQ hate issues and the Muslim community finally just got Eid off after years. So, I don’t think MCPS is especially preferentially anti-Semitic as much as they are incompetent. The teacher making comments about the murder of two Israeli diplomats being anything excited murder and hate, needs to be disciplined and if this is a second offense then fired. No more shuffling bad MCPS employees.

Not all Jews support the Israelis committing genocide in Gaza. I think part of Americans not having a good geopolitical education is that they conflate that all Jews love the Israelis but Jews that follow the 10 commandments and modern Israelis who do not are 2 different things ie thou shall not steal, thou shall not kill, thou shall not cover etc.

Not all Jews support the war, but no Jew is okay with Hamas. And there are very few Jews who think it’s okay to threaten Israel’s existence. Hence, the challenging situation.

Agree with all of this. It's complex. However, nobody should condone murder here either.

Seriously?! If Israel was trying eliminate all people who live in Gaza they would bomb without giving warning which oh yeah, they don’t. Israeli youth have been sacrificed to save as many Palestinians as possible.

I urge you to get out of your bubble and read what’s happening. Israel is not going to drop a bomb because then they for sure will look like the aggressor. They are reliant on folks who are looking the other way as they starve the people there.

Oh 100%. What the teacher said was awful and the point is that just because they’re Israeli diplomats doesn’t mean they bear responsibility for their leadership’s awful actions, especially not to be murdered for it

It’s not about Israel and Gaza when someone kills two Jews, indiscriminately, outside of a Jewish museum. They happened to work for the Israeli embassy but they could have been anyone.
