The question is in addition to those talks should parents double check to make sure their daughter has packed condoms. |
| Condoms and dental dams - wholesale at Costco |
| If you think your kids are unable to walk into a drug store and purchase condoms, walk them into the store, locate the condoms (or ask the pharmacist for an aisle suggestion), look thru the varieties and make a purchase decision. A parent’s job is to TEACH vs handling every.single. thing for them. What’s next? “Mom, I am out of condoms, can you order some more?” |

| At my orientation, other kids got to party but I got put with nerds and we played board games. |
Are you in denial that most college students are having sex? |
NP. Not sure how you could have possibly gotten that from what they said. Their point was that if there's any friction for college kids being able to buy condoms — lack of knowledge, discomfort asking a store employee about where the condoms are, lack of confidence about what kind to buy — that part of the parent's job is to remove that friction before the student goes off to college. |
Sure, but most college kids won’t don’t this, they’ll just have unsafe sex. It’s the parents job to make sure they are stocked up on condoms and order more when they need them. |
| Most college kids would probably just order them from Amazon anyway. Tell your kid to set up a recurring delivery if you’re concerned about their capability to keep condoms around. |
Or you could do this for your kid if they’re willing to tell you how many they need. |
+2 you never can be too safe. |
Holy moly. Land the helicopter |
DD. What is she going to do when she's face to face (or worse) with a young man who "forgot" his condom? Unless she's in a very rare gender scenario, the man is not the one getting genital fluids deposited inside his body. |
Nothing says "landed the helicopter" like raising a grandchild for a college student. |
Your choices are not limited to buy your kid condoms or raise your kids' child. You could teach them how to be self-sufficient and I don't understand why that isn't an option for you. Do you honestly think the only thing standing between your child and in an unwanted pregnancy is whether or not you personally buy them condoms? |
