Our Nanny brought her elementary school age kids to our house for the summer (which was a nanny share with two toddlers). We did not reduce her salary. It was probably not too great for her kids. It helped her out. I think you should see what you can find. Could be perfect for the right family.

We hired a regular part time babysitter when my child was 6 months to 2.5 years. I stayed at home but didn’t have any family support and my DH worked a lot even on weekends so I needed someone to come for a few hours a few times a week so I could run errands and go to appointments. It is so hard to find reliable part time care, and I would have absolutely considered your setup. Just put yourself out there and see who responds!

I did it until my cleaning person sent me a recording of my nanny neglecting my crying child while she played with her baby.

I would consider a nanny share paying half but not when it’s the nanny’s own kid. There’s no chance that my kid would be treated equally.

This can be an issue but there are definitely people looking for a part time arrangement. Part time childcare often comes at a premium so this could be really interesting to someone, if OP can get her name out there and find the right family.
