Well, Peter just got rehired to his role and it looks like everyone in Montgomery County is determined to give Taylor a long runway for being "new."

But I agree with you, neither has delivered meaningful change in their respective roles.

It’s embarrassing how expensive it is to live here, and we deal with the conditions of inner-ring Midwest suburbs for hundreds of thousands of dollars more. I say this as someone who went to high school in Euclid, Ohio. I live check to check, sending my kid to a private school in this area, and it’s embarrassing. WTAF do I have to pay so much for rent, then proceed to pay an additional five-figure sum a year for my kid to get a good education?

My wife was educated in MCPS and graduated in 2009, and she says this is the worst it’s ever been. All this is so, so stupid—that a kid can’t even go to the damn bathroom.

Not sure if this thread was started by private school receuiters. But, 09:15, rant shouldn't be over.

Parents, staff and students need to continue ranting.

Students who need to use the bathroom for purposes a bathroom exists are afraid to use them. Students should not need to be. It is their fcking right to use a fking bathroom.

Students should not need to waste so much time walking around to see which bathroom in their school is open.

Taylor and Moran should attend these schools and not be allowed to use a staff or health room bathroom for just one day. One day. Doubt they could last a day. Oh nevermind, they will probably just go outside because they probably have a penis so at least they can pee into a bottle or outside. What would they do if they had poop? Or oh my what if they were a young woman who has her period?!

Families need to get together and sue Central. That is the only way. They said bathrooms are NOT going to be locked. Yet bathrooms are again this year locked!

I have seen security chasing kids out of the bathrooms at my school.

I think the county is trying, but it’s just an overwhelming number of kids and issues. I have heard of girls napping in the bathroom. Constant vaping. Figuring out how to flush as many things as possible. Plugging up the toilets. Leaving poop on the toilets. Just crazy stuff. Even the health room is getting annoyed at my school because some kids are treating the health room bathroom as their personal refuge to hang out it.

I think the concrete solutions here take time, but I'm also not sure OP is for real.

At my child's school, they are cracking down on tardiness, issuing detentions when kids are repeatedly late. This is not directly a "bathroom" issue, but kids who get to class on time have less time to vape and screw around.

The school is also enforcing the ID rules, which is again not explicitly a bathroom issue but does make it easier for staff/security to identify repeat offenders.

However, all of this takes some time and I'm not surprised the results are not instantaneous.

During lunch, there still should be bathrooms on every floor open to students. Occasionally security will have to lock a restroom outside of lunch if there's a concern, they're checking security footage due to vandalism or smoking, or if it needs time to "air out."

I don't doubt what your son has seen/heard. There's a large group of students who refuse to go to class that get chased around the building and end up "hiding" in the bathroom with their friends.

So, at lunch when kids are meant to be on the ground floor, building services is cleaning 2nd and 3rd floor bathrooms except the places where the kids might be congregating (media center + activities center)? Also, security is focusing on where the most kids are? That seems fine with me to be honest.

My understanding is Northwood is a lot smaller than Woodward has capacity for, so it makes sense to me to close “unneeded” space.
