Sherwood was already a burning fire, you just didn’t see it right away until now.

Im sick of how Northwood is getting treated. My 2 children go there and we’ve already spent half the school year at the new building and now boundary changes to make things worse. Things have never been normal.

You know Northwood is getting a brand new building right?!

You are wrong. Crown is split in a very weird way. Kids inside Crown go to Forest Oak Middle School/Gaithersburg Cluster. Directly across the street on the Rio side goes to Frost/Wootton Cluster and then the opposite side - the Lifetime Fitness side goes to Lakelands/QO cluster.
They really should change inside Crown, especially with the high school coming.

And MS is Cabin John currently would they then go Cabin John Crown... However students from Crown area already go to Wootton so maybe one of the best choices except Wootton is not over crowded.
Another thought
Dufief Elementary should go to Crown easy access for busing. Same with Stonemill easy access.

They are the closest elementaries but MS not so much.

What do I know...

Logistics has never been a strong suit for MCPS.

What are people's predictions for what happens to WJ (wildwood side from Old Georgetown Rd), Blair, Einstein and BCC?

How am I wrong I said the same thing you did? "However students from Crown area already go to Wootton " I wasn't as specific as you. Again those kids will be redistricted to Crown HS as walkers. Which makes logistic sense however MCPS has an odd way of logistics so who knows.

Will Whitman be affected? Will they send the Westland MS students who live west of WI Avenue and south of ?? to Whitman?

No one can answer this yet.

I can't see Whitman's boundaries changing much. Maybe they'll send people living north of Bradley Boulevard to WJ or the new high school, I suppose they could do something with the finger of the Whitman attendance zone that reaches out to River Falls in Potomac. But the rest it wouldn't make much sense to mess with. You'd have people driving past Whitman to get to whatever school they had been reassigned to.

Reassigning some of the western BCC areas to Whitman seems likely.

I think WJ will keep the Wildwood neighborhood because it is in the walk zone for WJ and proximity wise further from Woodward. It also makes sense to use the 495/270 spur as boundary lines for the zones in the boundary study.

Yes, if Damascus decides to expand and then if Poolesville changes it’s boundary and there’s an increase or decrease of size, then it would most likely crown Rockville as the smallest HS in the county instead. I wouldn’t be surprised. Ever since living here in MoCo since 2007 I always thought Rockville was the smallest.

Why don’t they demolish it? I have 10 friends who have kids and I never heard one of them going to or planning to go to Rockville…

Demolish a high school? And what, sell the property? We will need that resource at some point when the county starts growing again. Jerry West sold off a lot of school properties and that was a bad move.

They should just relocate instead of demolishing. I guess people still think about the rape case everyday at that school. Utterly horrendous how one sexual assault can harm a school’s reputation and environment so badly. It’s like the schools legacy in the worst note possible.

No, no we don’t. We’ve moved on because that happened eight years ago and most of our kids were in kindergarten then. We’re good. We don’t need your help nor your opinions. Just ignore our little school like usual. We like it that way.

Kenwood to Whitman would make sense.

I think the NBMS zone will largely stay at WJ and the Tilden zone will move to Woodward, along with the K-P/NBMS island along the north side of Tuckerman. And both WJ and Woodward will also receive at least one adjacent ES from the DCC.
