And this is why buying Cybertrucks for armored
vip transport is a stupid idea. Actually, it is one of many reasons why it is a stupid idea, but apropos here. |

Most any modern vehicle can be remotely disabled, but either mfgs or government and law enforcement, or even hackers.
This is not just limited to Tesla's nor just electric vehicles. |
How new a car are we talking? I drive a 2015 and it hasn't got any connectivity that I know about. |
I note here that they're prohibited in most European countries. |

| The key is to not talk politics while in your Tesla. It can hear your democratic views and take appropriate action if directed. |

No, maam/sir, it certainly isn't! I was concerned about this 2 years ago when I was car hunting. That was 'before'. So, not next level. |
So they are not taking your phone and other things you have on you? That makes no sense. |
Yes this is true. |
| Forget the Tesla. With your voting data, a nefarious government can make it difficult or extremely expensive for you to get homeowners, health or car insurance. They can make your internet more expensive or less reliable. They can send pro-MAGA advertisements to your TV. They can make it difficult for you to get a job at Amazon, for example, or in the government. Your data is extremely valuable, and it seems it's already been taken. |
EVERYTHING you do is recorded and analyzed now. If you have a cell phone on or near your person, it is always listening, watching, and sonar mapping everything around it. Now most cars are doing that. Even appliances. Remember the "thought screens" in 1984? That tech is now less conspicuous and in R&D. |
| No, that’s stupid. |
The guy has extremely very poor impulse control with no moderation sense (disparate businesses, fathering 14 children with 3 women, etc). He's already torched Tesla sales in Europe and is on the way here in America due to his polarizing/extremist politics. He ended up having to purchase twitter because of he signed a contract with no due diligence at a greatly inflated price. Dumb-dumb move - just like now with DOGE. Also agree with the other poster who said he'll move onto another project when he gets bored. |
Yes, abstracting from the political, you could easily imagine a scenario where tesla introduces a “subscription” that you need to pay to keep your car running. But not abstracting from the political, it is being run by an impetuous ketamine addict with intimate ties to a mad king-style president. Why would you want to put yourself at his mercy? |
